The mechanobiological aspects of glioblastoma (GBM) pathogenesis are largely unknown. Polycystin-1 (PC1) is a key mechanosensitive protein which perceives extracellular mechanical cues and transforms them into intracellular biochemical signals that elicit a change in cell behaviour.
