Ginseng (Panax ginseng) and its bioactive components, ginsenosides, are popular medicinal herbal products, exhibiting various pharmacological effects. Despite their advocated use for medication, the long cultivation periods of ginseng roots and their low ginsenoside content prevent mass production of this compound.
