Contact between inflammatory cells and endothelial cells (ECs) is a crucial step in vascular inflammation. Recently, we demonstrated that the cell-surface level of endomucin (EMCN), a heavily O-glycosylated single transmembrane sialomucin, interferes with the interactions between inflammatory cells and ECs.
