Kyphoplasty is an effective minimally invasive surgical treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). Current problems associated with kyphoplasty require better injectable bone cements with improved biodegradability and osseointegrative property as an alternative to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) bone cement.
