The most prevalent histological type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is adenocarcinoma. The WHO classifies this tumor into subtypes according to the predominant growth pattern such as lepidic, acinar, papillary, solid or micropapillary, each harboring specific molecular features.
